Loving God....LovING People

Giving thanks, before serving the meal.
We have been serving food at a local Homeless Lunch Program for about 14 months now. It's exciting to see what God does with a few that are willing. What a blessing and a privilege it is to be working with this group. God is good!
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Mt 25:35-40

COMPASSIONThe Bible teaches us that we not only have a God that is loving and merciful, but also a God full of compassion. In fact the Bible says that at one point Jesus was so moved with compassion that He cried (Jn 11:35). As Christians following Christ's example, we too should be grieved by what grieves Jesus.
It is right and natural for Christians to sympathize with others in their afflictions. We are to "rejoice with those that rejoice, and weep with those that weep." Take a look at the video to the right. It is a video that focuses on the faces of the homeless in my home state of Texas. Ask yourself, WWJD (What Would Jesus Do) and then ask yourself, maybe, just maybe, there's something God wants you to do? I was moved by this video, perhaps you will be too!
